Despite the weather gods deciding not to play ball for the August bank holiday weekend, there was over 60 boats on the water for the weekend series run over Sunday and Monday.
Saturday’s racing didn’t happen due to lack of wind so plenty of fettling on the shore.
Sunday fared slightly better in that the first race had a decent wind. After lunch the 2nd race of the series started well but then died along with a heavy rain shower. This left some of the fleet leading caught out by average lap times unfortunately.
After some debate the wind came back and it was decided to run the 3rd scheduled race which probably was the best wind of the day as it had swung to the south.
Bank holiday Monday had much more favourable conditions so the OOD made the most of it with 2 longer back to back races.
