Quiet Championship Weekend

Bassenthwaite had a rather quiet Championship weekend due to our youth squad and their families travelling over to Derwent Reservoir for the Youth Northern Championships. That left a fleet of 9 handicap, 3 Asymmetric and 3 GP14s to enjoy the sun and medium sw breeze.

In the GP14s we had Alan and Sue winning the first race, with Val and Ken the second. John and Jack sailed round to test their new boat but retired from the results in each race. So that meant Val and Ken were overnight leaders on count back.

In the handicap David in a ILCA6 led with a 1st and 2nd followed by Neil and Rory in the Flying Fifteen with a 1st and 3rd.

In the Asymmetric fleet Mark had 2 convincing wins in his RS100.

Sunday whilst very sunny and warm lacked the wind of Saturday. So after an hour and a half wait for the wind to fill in it was decided to abandon the racing.
So the overnight results stood.
