After a wild, and sometimes very wet, preparation day on Saturday, British Summer Time started with bright blue skies, and a blustery, cool, NW wind. The conditions did not put off any of the sailors that had turned up to race.
As forecast, the wind eased through the first race, but picked up again before the lunch break. There were no capsizes by the racers, but Barbra, who had ventured out for her first sail of the season did have an unplanned (if not unexpected) swim.
Rory was trialling his K1, yet again picking a blustery day for a new boat!
On handicap, Alex/Saskia in their Mirror won both races, and were overall winners of the Starter’s Prize. Neil/Archie were relieved to be sailing their RS200 (rather than RS400) in the conditions, and finished 2nd overall, with Rory in his K1 3rd.
