It’s All About Teamwork

After a sunny morning for the training, the afternoon clouded over for the afternoon races with a cold breeze from the west, then the rain filled in.

In the first race Oscar and Andrew won on handicap over Neil in the ILCA6. The next race Val & Ken had a cracking first beat and never looked back, winning by a significant margin on handicap with Dave in the ILCA6 2nd.

Mike and Jack still lead the series in their Graduate.

Sunday was a brighter and breezier day and a lot warmer thankfully. In the Handicap fleet Neil and Archie had navigational issues and rounded 4 the wrong way whilst in the lead. Phil then pointed out they hadn’t unwound themselves so fun and games sorting that out. 🤔

During the race however neither of the RS400’s could escape Robin and Mike in the FF and they ended up clear winners on handicap. In the GP14 fleet the status quo resumed in that Dave and Lynn won and Val and Ken 2nd and Alan and Sue 3rd.

Neil and Archie currently lead the handicap, and Val and Ken the GP14 fleet.

The second race was the Jubilee Sailing Trust Pennant.

Again Neil and Archie had navigational issues whilst at the front in that someone mixed up Port and Starboard. Port is definitely red on the course board and a 4 hour breakfast shift is no excuse… 🤣

This time they sailed and retired as by the time it was worked out it was too late…

It would have made little difference as Robin and Mike sailed a great race in their FF only to be trumped by an even better sail from Dave and Lynn in the GP14.

Dave and Lynn ended up winners with Robin and Mike 2nd.
