79 members and guests attended the 72nd annual prizegiving dinner dance at the Skiddaw Hotel in Keswick on Saturday night.
Following speeches by the joint commodores Ian and Andrea Preston reviewing their two years in office, with a look into the future as to the roles the younger generation may well undertake for the club, Andrea presented the perpetual trophies that had been won throughout the closing season.
The forecast weather conditions due to storm Bert are unlikely to encourage anyone to even venture down the club tomorrow so it has been decided to cancel racing and bring the season to a premature close.

Although the winter series was scheduled to start today, the wind was absent, so the OD agreed with those that were considering sailing to cancel racing for the day.
The final day of the Autumn Saturday had a good F4-5, though not as gusty as the forecast, and the afternoon stayed dry.
There were five boats that started, of which only four finished, but there were no capsizes. It is with great sadness that, after a long illness, Judith Currie passed away at home last night.
Judith has been a long time member of the club, quietly supporting, and occasionally crewing for, husband Neil.
Our thoughts are with Neil and extended family at this difficult time.
