Robin Crawley, Harry Binns and Christina Tully represented Bass SC at the Onboard Regatta last Sunday at Low Wood Windermere. There was no wind (a bit like Bass) but all had loads of fun!

Another day racing concludes another series with Toggle and Mike each securing another trophy. Just one weekend left before this season’s prize list can be finalised.

As forecast, the blustery winds have passed through leaving good racing conditions for the fleet and their early start (Shame Jim Christie thought he was starting at 10.30 too!)

Although the forecast was not very promising, the wind did fill in to get racing underway, but it then started to swing more to the East. This weekend we are hosting the GP14 Inlands. The rain has passed over and there is a forecast for a good southerly breeze all weekend.

This weekend the lake was taken over by RS 200s, 400s and Vareos, all sailing as separate fleets. As they are all asymmetric boats, the courses were windward/leeward.

The wild winds as forecast didn’t come to fruition, nor did the 10mph breeze! OD Mark Ninnim found the swinging winds challenging (as were his ‘helpers’ in the committee boat!), but he got all three races in in fluctuating winds.
Tim Knowles got off to a flying start with his new sails, but he slipped back and Mike Fairlamb went on to win both the 1st and 2nd races, in which Tim and Vall Bell each shared a 2nd and a 3rd.… Read full article “Fleet Challenge C”
